《離題》前兩天我轉貼了一篇關於 nutmeg荳蔻的新聞,朋友天外飛來一筆,我喜歡「荳蔻年華」,我一時楞住,對呀,為什麼是荳蔻年華呢?
答案在這裡: 當女子到了十三、四歲即將成年時,便會以「荳蔻年華」來形容。所謂的「荳蔻」是一種淡黃色的植物,含苞待放時稱為「含胎花」,花形嬌嫩、香味淡雅,所以唐朝詩人杜牧便在〈贈別〉一詩中:「娉娉嫋嫋十三餘,荳蔻梢頭二月初。」意思是說:「十三歲的女子體態輕盈柔美,就像是二月初樹梢上那似開未開、含苞待放的荳蔻花。」用來比喻尚未成年的少女,體態嬌小可愛,模樣清秀美麗。
Love the science diagrams (which really help me understand how to read a chemical structure - which is what I was looking for - nothing else I could find was nearly so clear about what actual atoms lipid fatty acids are made up of). I sort of wish the rest was in English, because it looks like a really cool site, but then again... great to see a that cosmetics witchery is an international phenomena.
